Hacienda Del Sol – one of my favorite Foothills desert oasis’s. A warm October day with a stunning array of white puffy clouds over the mountain view. Soft blush pinks, candlelight and lace. Laura and Colin left Boston in a 30 degree chill and arrived in 80 degree Tucson for their romantic desert wedding. I first met them back in spring when we did their engagement photos in the barrio. Laid back and fun to work with, this pair of lawyers had a perfectly classical and sophisticated wedding with a wonderful gathering of friends and family from all over the US. An intimate ceremony in the courtyard under the orange tree was officiated by Laura and Colin’s good friend Jennifer Zartarian and Laura’s brother played acoustic guitar during the processionals. Small cactus gardens in Mexican pottery were both the guest table numbers and favors for their guests to take home. I had a fabulous team of some of my favorite vendors to work with this day. Andy Depew of Satyr Entertainment got every single one of the 110 guests out on the dance floor all evening, Rachel Allen and the wonderful staff at Hacienda Del Sol had everything to perfection, as always. And it was my first time working with the amazing Rackel Gehlsen who coordinated this beautiful wedding. Rackel pulled safety pins and scissors out of thin air, kept everything flowing throughout the day, and when I left at the end of the evening was boxing up cactus favors for the guests to safely bring home.
