A New Years Day Wedding at Hacienda Del Sol

It seems that I always start the year with a New Years Day wedding at the beautiful Hacienda Del Sol in Tucson Arizona! Hacienda Del Sol is one of those amazing places full of  old Tucson history, but kept as polished and perfect as when it was first built in 1929.  A former girls school and then eventually redesigned as a guest ranch by architect Josias Joesler .  John Wayne and Clark Gable count among their famous guests.  And I adore the fact that I can get architecture, history, desert cactus and mountains all in one amazing space. Add to that a great couple who got to escape the never ending East Coast winter with a lot of family and friends for one of those perfect Tucson 70 degree days.

The first time ever I visited Hacienda Del Sol I was immediately entranced by the beautiful southwest architecture and stunning cactus gardens as you enter the property gates. Every visit since has continued to entral me and this New Years Day was no exception. Jennifer and Randy brought 50 family and friends from all over the country out to Tucson Arizona to celebrate their wedding day with them. It was a brilliantly warm and sunny day, the reason why people travel to Tucson Arizona in January! Jennifer brought a sophisticated New York elegance with her that radiated over the entire day. She wore a Kitty Chen Couture gown and then changed to a Calvin Klein white dress for dancing and Randy wore his Army uniform. The wedding ceremony was held in the inner court yard beautifully decorated by Colleen LaFleur with greenery and mercury glass candles.
