Rocky the Desert Tortoise! I have never photographed a desert tortoise before. Actually, I have never seen one outside of the zoo. Victoria and Tim rescued Rocky from being run over in the middle of the road when he was the size of a walnut. Now I’d have to say he’s the size of an apple? But he’s a happy and very curious little desert tortoise. Rocky set the stage for a great opening to my 2014 wedding season. He hid in his shell for about 2 seconds, then popped his head out to peek at the wedding rings, and then proceeded to climb right over them during his photo op. Victoria and Tim had a gorgeous wedding day. Of course, it seems like every day this winter in Tucson has been amazing, but this truly was a perfect day. Spring flowers are in full bloom at Tohono Chul Park in Tucson – the park really is an amazing place to be right now! The wedding ceremony was right in the park under a large mesquite tree. A cocktail and hor d’oeuvre reception followed under the twinkling lights of the courtyard at Tohono Chul. I always feel like I come away from a wedding with a few new best friends and Victoria and Tim are on that list now. A wonderful couple, great friends and family, a delightful evening in the park.
