The Hudson Valley Wedding {Mills Mansion Powerhouse} of Whitney & Jake

I’ve been photographing weddings at Mills Mansion for years, which just goes to prove that you can think you know everything about a place, and then realize you don’t really know that much at all!  I have never been to the Powerhouse at Mills Mansion in all my years of going there – I didn’t even know there was a Powerhouse.  A small stone building right down on the Hudson River, it was overgrown and not accessible.  Recently renovated, Whitney and Jake chose to have the first event ever hosted there!  Guests drifted in and out of this historic stone building and sipped cocktails on the patios on the riverbank.  Afterwards, all the guests walked down river path to the beautifully lit tent set up for the reception next to the Gardner’s Cottage.  A warm summer evening spent on the river’s edge in this wildly romantic setting was exactly what Whitney and Jake had envisioned…
