We emailed back and forth for a year, and then I finally had the chance to meet Shannon and Rick in person a few days before their wedding. It turns out the I knew so many people that Shannon also knew. I had either photographed a wedding of friends, or they had been a bridesmaid in another wedding I photographed, or they were friends with someone I knew – it’s really such a small world! I loved the floral robes she gifted her bridesmaids – a beautiful gift they can wear time and time again. Soft peonies and mercury glass decor added to the romance of the day. After a first look on the beach, we headed over to Davenport Park in New Rochelle for photos before the ceremony. Shannon and Rick had told me they were more tree and grass people than beach people, which really worked well for all of us on a hot summers day as we stayed in the cooler shade of the park trees. The outdoor cocktail hour had station after station of sumptuous food, followed by dinner and then an enormous dessert bar. And I got to spend my 2nd week in a row working with the awesome guys from Jimmy Dee Productions – it’s always a great party when these guys are there!
