Even though I was already booked for their wedding date, Rachael and Scott still wanted me to shoot their engagement photos. Which made me very happy, because they are an awesome couple who will soon be leaving Tucson for a new life in South Korea. And there was another BIG plus for me in our very short friendship. The very first thing I bought when I moved to Tucson was a Daniel Martin Diaz painting. I didn’t even have a couch yet. But I had a piece by Daniel Martin Diaz, which was a big deal to me. So when I met Rachael and Scott and they mentioned doing their Tucson engagement photos inside Sacred Machine’s gallery, I was more than a little bit excited.
We started out by wandering around down in the barrio for awhile, then headed back up to Congress Street to catch the end of the day at Sacred Machine. Thank you so much to Daniel and Paula for the amazing shooting space, good company, wine and cheese. It was a really good wine too, and as usual I forgot to write the name down. We ended up the evening on the roof of the Congress Hotel – a space where if I had a 3 story ladder I would hang out every night.
