Anny and Gary + Hudson Valley Engagement Photos + New York Wedding Photographer

I met Anny and Gary at a wedding last year at at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in upstate New York. We were kinda looking for a place 1/2 way between us (Staten Island and Poughkeepsie) to meet up for engagement photos and I was thinking of the Japanese gardens at Gasho of Japan. I remembered going there for several weddings many many years ago and was even wondering if it still looked as pretty. Well it was still there , and it still was! I was very amazed that the leaves were already turning colors, but of course that is always a perfect thing to have happen to you even if it is a surprise. Anny and Gary were so easy going and fun to work with and Anny learned that she’s pretty good at hiking up and down hills and rocks in high heeled boots. Give me a nice concrete pathway, and somehow it’s almost a guarantee that I will somehow take you off the path and up into the woods every time. ps – I also loved Anny’s sense of style – the city girl chic and plum velvet boots paired with Gary’s rugged plaid shirt – I can’t wait to see this wedding next summer!

Jennifer and Nick + Agua Linda Farm Wedding + Tucson Wedding Photographer

Take a beautiful early summer day, add a beautiful couple who are crazy in love with each other, add in a gorgeous mountain view plus a historic desert ranch, mix and stir with some awesome friends and family. You now have Jennifer and Nick’s wedding at Agua Linda Farm in Amado, Arizona. Agua lInda Farm has always been one of my favorite places to spend the day – the place just radiates happiness! The bride and her bridesmaids made their own bouquets and there were mason jars given out as guest favors that doubled as drinking glasses for the evening. And if you’re looking for comfy wedge heels that won’t sink in the grass but still have a ‘wedding feel’ to them, I was amazed to find out that UGG (maker of the ugliest but comfiest boot ever – yes I have a love/hate relationship with mine) makes a wrap around strappy high heeled wedge shoe!

Jessica and Julio + Hotel Congress Wedding + Downtown Tucson Wedding

A DIY downtown Tucson wedding at the Hotel Congress. Soooo many little details and a fun early morning walking around some of my favorite places in downtown Tucson. Jessica and Julio’s vintage style fit in perfectly with the Hotel Congress. The tables were decorated with cutting boards, piled with vintage books and topped off with wire bicycles that just vibed of urban downtown living. Scrabble, potted cactus favors, vintage suitcases, postcards and a time capsule. Since this wedding took place on an early morning, Jessica and Julio topped off the morning by cutting into a three tiered coffee cake after brunch. A pedicab getaway completed this beautiful morning!

Wedding albums galore!

The heat of August drives me inside and spurs a mad rush of wedding album design before all the fall weddings begin! Twelve albums have rolled out the door this month. Gorgeous leathers and beautiful silk covers, I love every single one of them.

Araliya and Shawn + Agua Linda Farm Wedding + Tucson Wedding Photographer

Araliya and Shawn’s wedding story spanned 2 continents and 10,000 miles. They met online – Australia to United States – and dated long distance before Araliya eventually moved to the Arizona to be with Shawn. This gorgeous wedding day brought a crowd of relatives with Australian accents (I love listening to Australian speak!), a beautiful bride in wedding sari to honor her father’s Sri Lankan heritage, Australian candy favors brought by the bride’s mom from Australia, a delicious Mexican feast prepared by the groom’s mother, a Mariachi Band, a Sri Lankan lamp lighting ceremony, and so much more. The melding of cultures was so very thought out and perfect in every way. Add to all this the gorgeous natural desert setting at Agua Linda Farm in Amado.

Tera and Nathan + Hacienda Del Sol Wedding + Tucson Wedding

There really is nothing more beautiful than a gorgeous Southwestern day. Tera and Nathan’s wedding at Hacienda Del Sol in Tucson Arizona was just one of those amazing days. The gardens and Southwestern architecture at Hacienda Del Sol always make me spin all around in delight – it’s always such an amazing place to photograph. I loved these bridesmaid dresses so much that ordered one in teal for myself after Tera’s wedding! A mass at St Pius in Tucson was followed by a garden reception in the courtyard at Hacienda Del Sol

Shannon and Rick + Greentree Country Club Wedding + Hudson Valley Wedding Photography

I loved the floral robes she gifted her bridesmaids – a beautiful gift they can wear time and time again. Soft peonies and mercury glass decor added to the romance of the day. After a first look on the beach, we headed over to Davenport Park in New Rochelle for photos before the ceremony. Shannon and Rick had told me they were more tree and grass people than beach people, which really worked well for all of us on a hot summers day as we stayed in the cooler shade of the park trees. The outdoor cocktail hour had station after station of sumptuous food, followed by dinner and then an enormous dessert bar. And I got to spend my 2nd week in a row working with the awesome guys from Jimmy Dee Productions – it’s always a great party when these guys are there!

Danielle and Adam + West Hills Country Club Wedding + Hudson Valley Wedding Photography

My first trip back to New York in a few months – everyone said I brought the beautiful weather with me! It was a gorgeous couple of weeks. Perfect skies, perfectly warm but not hot. Danielle and Adam’s wedding had seemed like so long away when I did their engagement photos last year, but all of the sudden it was here. This was my first time photographing at West Hills Country Club since the Bonura family took over the catering – it was a delight in every way! The beautiful tent with all those chandeliers was gorgeous on a warm summer’s evening. Gorgeous green grass and a fun energetic couple who never seem to get tired of laughing.

Ruby and Chach + Loews Ventana Canyon Wedding + Tucson Wedding Photographer

Ruby and Chach were married on a hot summer day, my last Tucson wedding before flying off to New York for the June wedding season there. I LOVE this couple to death, so it was a perfect way to end of an amazing run of beautiful weddings in Tucson! I met them last year during a super fun engagement session with them and their 3 dogs at the U of A, so it was like meeting old friends again on their wedding day. Light summery pale pinks, lace and pearls. Romance romance everywhere….A beautiful traditional full mass at St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Oro Valley after which everyone headed over to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort for photos and one of the largest parties of the year! DJ Andy Depew of Satyr Entertainment got the 370 guests going on the dance floor for a few hours and then turned the party over to the Luciano Techno Show Band out of Nogales for the after party dancing.

Sam and Ryan + Stardance in Tucson + Tucson Wedding Photographer

Romance and a rustic barn wedding set in the desert with Sombrero Peak and Saguaro National Park as a background. I didn’t think there were any barns in Tucson Arizona. I was wrong. Stardance is a wedding venue with that unique rustic barn feel that just says cozy to me even though there is room for hundreds of guests. An enormous rock fireplace, copper chandeliers, lush lawns, and plenty of mountains and cactus if you’re looking for that too. Which I always am. Sam and Ryan were a lot of fun at their engagement shoot last year, and they sure didn’t disappoint me by lacking fun on their wedding day. Sam used bright beautiful yellows that just jumped out against the rustic brown boards of the barn.

Kristen and Jagan + Gallery in the Sun + Tucson Engagement Photography

These guys are really the nicest people – I am so happy they found each other and can’t wait for their upcoming wedding at Tohono Chul Park! Kristen and Jagen met in Minnesota and now commute between new Mexico and Arizona for what truly qualifies for very long distance dates! This sweetest of couples met up with me on a gorgeous hot afternoon for what will most likely be my last engagement session before the cooler weather comes back again.

Abby and Ben and now Benjamin + Tucson Family Photography

Two years ago I photographed Abby and Ben’s wedding at Agua Linda Farms. Chula the chihauhau was in their engagement photos and a big part of the wedding party. Fast forward and now Baby Benjamin is here! I met up with Abby and Ben again on a very windy stormy day in Tucson. We had been back and forth all day – was it going to be a rain out or not? As I was walking through the University of Arizona campus to meet up with them, sure enough, it started raining

Jyotsna and Lynn’s Engagement Photos in the Barrio + Tucson Wedding Photography

I think the hardest thing about this engagement shoot was tearing myself away from them after we were done taking pictures. They were heading over to El Charro for a much deserved margarita and invited me to join them, but I knew I had a long weekend ahead of me and a coupla doggies at home who knew that it was way past dinnertime. But I’m still thinking about that ice cold drink! The Barrio was just as charming as ever, with a little extra plus from some gorgeously blooming gardens that we borrowed for a few minutes.

Laura and Colin’s Tucson Engagement Photos + In the Barrio

They flew into Tucson from snowy Massachusetts for some sunshine, wedding planning, Mexican food, and their engagement session. Plus it was really nice to get to know them before their upcoming fall wedding at Hacienda Del Sol in Tucson! Laura’s big request was lots of color and some Barrio photos – one of my favorite things to do.

Amanda and Jason + Wedding at Hacienda Del Sol + Tucson Wedding Photography

really do hope I delivered! Hacienda Del Sol is one of those amazing places full of old Tucson history, but kept as polished and perfect as when it was first built in 1929. A former girls school and then eventually redesigned as a guest ranch by architect Josias Joesler . John Wayne and Clark Gable count among their famous guests. And I adore the fact that I can get architecture, history, desert cactus and mountains all in one amazing space.

Sarah and Alan + Corpus Christi Church Wedding + Tucson Wedding Photography

Succulents, succulents, succulents! Okay, so I really do love succulents. LaFleur Plantscapes in Tucson came up with some gorgeous succulent bouquets and boutonnieres for Sarah and Alan’s wedding. They really just jumped out at you, but were still very delicate and pretty. Some of my favorite bouquets this year. Sarah and Alan were married at Corpus Christi Church in Tucson.

Sam and Kris + Downtown Tucson Engagement Photos + Tucson Wedding

We had planned Sam and Kris’s engagement session for downtown Tucson. Not realizing at first that it was 2nd Saturday downtown, which meant that we were going to be competeing for space with a few thousand street fair go’ers! So we decided to fall back to the Art Museum area of downtown. Except that it turned out that all the streets were closed there for a bike race that was going on at that moment. So basically I just followed the detours until we found that Toole Street was still open and it actually had a parking space open. So that was the spot! We ended up with some awesome colorful backgrounds, a hot dog truck (Thank you You Sly Dog hot dogs!), and some new knowledge on micro cinemas.

Sarah and Josh + Hilton El Conquisator Wedding + Tucson Wedding Photographer

Their beautifully classical and traditional Jewish wedding took place at the Hilton El Conquisator in Tucson. This perfect day started off with a bedeken and tisch – part of a traditional Jewish custom where the groom is brought into the brides room to place the veil on her head before the wedding ceremony. The ceremony took place under a gorgeous chuppah surrounded by all of their parents and grandparents. After the breaking of the glass, a few minutes of alone time and a flurry of family photos, a fun evening of dancing kicked off with the hora.

Victoria and Tim + Tohono Chul Wedding + Tucson Wedding

Victoria and Tim had a gorgeous wedding day. Of course, it seems like evry day this winter in Tucson has been amazing, but this truly was a perfect day. Spring flowers are in full bloom at Tohono Chul Park in Tucson – the park really is am amazing place to be right now. The wedding ceremony was right in the park under a mesquite tree. A cocktail hour reception followed under the twinkling lights of the courtyeard at Tohono Chul.
