Ally and Alex + Tohono Chul Park Wedding Day + Tucson Wedding

The big party was two days later at Tohono Chul Park – a delightful evening in the bistro garden. We almost had a photographer steps on a large rattlesnake moment here, but luckily Alex did a heroic groom move and averted disaster. Rain, deer, rattlesnakes, it might all sound like a lot to handle, but Alex and Ally found fun in every moment and brought the true sense of a magical wedding to what will be a fun and adventurous marriage journey I’m sure.

Nico and Tristen’s Engagement Session + Catalina State Park Engagement

I had a great time photographing this adventurous and dynamic couple who easily outdid me physically as we trekked through Catalina State Park. A trip to Romero Pools or Picacho Peak, which is a strenuous hike involving lots of snacks and rest stops for me, is just a quick and easy stroll for them. Catalina State Park really is a beautiful spot – miles of trails and the most gorgeous views! Nico and Tristen were so easy going and full of great ideas

Sophie’s Bat Mitzvah!

A morning service with Congregation Or Chadash at the Jewish Community Center was followed by a luncheon there and then the party later that evening. Custom made blown glass art pieces were made by Sophie and Tamar in the months leading up to the Bat Mitzvah day. These pieces were used as centerpieces on the luncheon tables early on in the day, and then auctioned off in a silent auction later that evening. There was dancing and games led all evening long by Satyr Entertainment

Shayna and Matt + A Wedding at Westward Look Resort + Tucson Wedding Photography

I have been at Westward Look Resort every single weekend this month! Not always for a wedding, but for some parties , some couples getting ready for their wedding day there, lots of things going on every week. And Westward Look Resort has a special place in my heart as it where I photographed my very 1st west coast wedding when I came to Tucson a few years back. So I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I walk in the doors. Shayna and Matt had an amazing wedding day there. Big blue skies, the hummingbird garden was full of flowers, and tons of family and friends who joined them from California for a big weekend party at the resort.

Lyssa and Manny + Reflections at the Buttes + Tucson Wedding

This large and wonderful gathering of family and friends took place at Reflections at the Buttes in Tucson. This party started off strong, had some pretty amazing speeches, and then dancing took over the night and was still going long after I had left. Actually, they may still be there!

Theresa and Brandon’s Wedding + Park Avenue Wedding in Tucson

I knew Brandon was a chemistry teacher, but it wasn’t until I saw people talking about Pi day on the internet that I realized there was a significance to their wedding date.  3.14.15.  And then I saw the custom pi wedding tee-shirts and Brandon’s new Pi tattoo.  He won’t ever have an excuse to miss his...

Rebecca and Barry’s Desert Engagement Session

Rebecca and Barry are avid hikers and blew me away with the fact that they have completed more hikes around Tucson than most people who have lived here forever. They have been to the TOP of Picacho Peak, Romero Pools, Seven Falls, and the list goes on. I’m looking forward to seeing this adventurous couple again at their wedding at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain in a few months!

Haley and Justin + Tucson Engagement Photos

So anyway, we ended up in the desert at sunset, but we started out in the Barrio in Tucson. Everything that I love. A great couple, some amazing colors, the gorgeous Tucson desert, and then some camo photos with a prop that this couple made the night before. I loved everything! Justin is on his way to Afghanistan sometime this month – I hope these photos give him some great memories until I see him again at their wedding this fall. Safe journeys…

Kat and Jon’s Wedding + Barrio Brewery Wedding + Tucson Backyard Wedding

Can a wedding day be both traditional and yet non-tradtional?  Can you mix hip and urban with romance and lace?  Yes, yes you can.  I think that Kat and Jon’s wedding was one of the most delightful weddings I’ve been privileged with photographing.  They did everything their way, yet very tastefully and gave their friends and...

Kat and Jon’s Tucson Engagement Session

Who could have imagined that a girl from Iowa and a guy from Tucson would meet and fall in love in Malaysia? Which is exactly what Kat and Jon did. They met in Malaysia where Kat was backpacking her way through the country and Jon was working. Now both living in Malaysia, this couple traveled back to Tucson for a wintertime wedding and to visit with all their family and friends. We did an engagement session the same week as their wedding, which was actually a perfect way for us to all get to know each other before the big day! We spent a fun afternoon at DeGrazia’s gallery in the Sun. A few minutes with Kat and Jon and I felt like I was with old friends!
