Wedding at The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain

Erin and Mike. The notes that these two wrote back and forth to each other the morning of their wedding…..Wow. Sure, couples write cards to each other and sometimes there’s a cell phone message or a note or two. But this couple – notes were all over the place in their rooms down the hall from each other at the Ritz Carlton at Dove Mountain. Little scraps of paper …endearing notes….mentions of past memories and future wishes. I tried to photograph all these small pieces of paper whenever I saw one in between the flowers arriving, dresses being put on and the general dizzying excitement before the ceremony. Cayton’s Golf Club at the The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain was the perfect place for this perfectly magical wedding day for this honestly perfectly matched couple. One of the non-fussiest couples ever and yet the most beautiful taste in everything. They envisioned an outdoor wedding in the desert with simple clean lines mixed with cactus and succulents that reflected their love of Tucson. Long farm tables with a mixture of bare wood and simple white on white linens, rustic gold candle sticks with straight lines of thick white candles, rustic wooden boxes with all white flowers and pale green succulents on each table, a simple white 3 tiered cake decorated with only succulents. Erin’s clean modern esthetic showed everywhere. And then, because they are young and fun and Arizona is bright and sunny, sunglasses for all of the guests in black and white. Always a thoughtful addition, especially for all of the out of town guests!
