Cassie and Kristen were married on a warm autumn day – the leaves were starting to change color, but the last notes of summer could still be felt. My first gay wedding since it became legal in New York! Cassie and Kristen are both incredibly sweet and I have been looking forward to their wedding for an entire year now. Bethel Woods is one of my favorite venues, not just because I get to work with one of my former brides, Meghan Stalter, but because Bethel Woods is the sight of the original Woodstock Festival in 1969. Cassie and Kristen’s ceremony was on the hill overlooking the historic ‘Great Lawn’ and we did photos all over the original concert site, including a crazy fun rushed photo session in the psychedelic museum. My head always spins from all the cool music, spinning lights and tributes to amazing musicians. There’s magic everywhere. Woodstock 1969 was remembered everywhere at this wedding. The tables were named after musicians who played there and replica concert tickets had each guests name printed on them. The head table was named after Richie Havens, who’s ashes were just scattered here weeks before. The brides had complimentary, but NOT matching bouquets, which was clever, beautiful and unique. A magical location, a magic bus, a magic evening. Magic, Magic, Everywhere
