Lauren and Liam – the story of how they met still makes me laugh. Liam was visiting the United States from Ireland and met Lauren at Daytona Bike Week. I mean, who goes to Daytona Bike week and comes home with a wife? And Lauren, who is definitely not a biker chic kinda girl, was at Bike Week with her grandfather (there’s another whole story there…). Fast forward to a few years later, and Liam’s entire family flew over from Ireland to meet up with Lauren’s family and celebrate a wedding at Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point New York. The wedding day was a crystal clear, white puffy cloud kinda day – the kind that everyone hopes for. A simple ceremony, some very large family photos with an Irish family who hadn’t had a family photo taken in years, and then a party that I’m sure they are all still talking about. Dancing all night to The Infernos…and ending with a wild, sweep you off your feet last song that kept everyone yelling and cheering long after the last song had ended. My only regret here was that I didn’t snag one of the guest table favors – a bottle of olive oil for each guest that was the size of wine bottle – that’s one gift that I can’t imagine not being able to use! Sadly, I couldn’t figure out how I would get that packed in my camera bag and across the country without breaking and I was hopping on a plane in a few hours.
