Classic vintage glamour, pink and pearls inspiration. A Monique Lhuillier wedding gown – Rhianna from the Spring 2010 Collection that Christina selected and then had customized to fit her style. Wow Wow Wow….!
Christina’s family is from the Isle of Cyprus and a very important part of the day involved pre-ceremony traditions the morning of their wedding that go back thousands of years. The families gathered at both homes where Christina’s grandfather sang accompanied by a violinist and a lauto while family members gave Nick a ‘last shave’ and helped him to dress, also blessing both Nick and Christina with the passing of smoking olive leaves and a red cloth. This part of their wedding day held alot of significance to this couple and Christina alternated between laughter and crying as every person in her extremely large family gave her their wedding day blessings.
And then ah – the weather. You plan and plan and plan, but you can’t stop the rain! The beauty and glamour of this wedding day was not a bit dampened by last minute changes that just couldn’t be prevented by the never ending rain. Christina and Nick’s marriage is doubly blessed forever because it wasn’t just raining, it was RAINING. Luckily, we had already planned for a ‘day after’ photo shoots so Nick and Christina could have more photo time together, so ‘sunny’ day pics are soon to come!
